World Siblings Day 2022: Bollywood movies which show the siblings relationship, binge watch on these OTT platforms

Today is celebrated as ‘Siblings Day’ all over the world. Siblings Day is celebrated on secondsunday of April to explain the importance of brother and sister in a person’s life. The work of promoting brother-sister love abroad started later, in our India, brothers and sisters have already been brought closer through festivals like Bhai Dooj and Raksha Bandhan. This is the reason that many films have been made in Bollywood also showing the love of siblings. Let’s have a look on some of these movies -:

DEEWAR (1975)

Deewar (1975), is an Indian action crime drama film directed by Yash Chopra and written by Salim-Javed (Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar). The film starred Shashi Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, Neetu Singh, Nirupa Roy and Parveen Babi in lead roles. Based on a pair of poor brothers, the film depicted how the entire family struggles to survive in the slums of Bombay due to the betrayal of their father.

AMAR AKBAR ANTHONY

Amar Akbar Anthony, directed by Manmohan Desai, tells the story of three brothers. The characters of Amar Khanna, Akbar Allahabadi and Anthony Gonsalves are played by Vinod Khanna, Rishi Kapoor and Amitabh Bachchan respectively. The three brothers get separated from each other in their childhood. All three grow up in different religions and due to circumstances, then meet each other again. The film is a true Bollywood masala film with great songs, car chases, fights, marriages and brother-sister love.

SATTE PE SATTA (1982)

Satte Pe Satta is a 1982 film based on Hollywood’s Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (1954). It starred Amitabh Bachchan (Ravi Anand) and Hema Malini (R Indu Anand) in the lead roles. Ravi, the eldest of the seven brothers in ‘Satte Pe Satta’, is the head of the family. Sudhir, Shakti Kapoor, Pental, Kanwaljit Singh, Vikram Sahu and Sahi Anand were seen playing the roles of Som Anand, Mangal Anand, Buddha Anand, Guru Anand, Shukra Anand and Shani respectively in the film.

KARAN ARJUN
OTT Platform – Zee5
The film ‘Karan Arjun’ featuring Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan as brothers on-screen is available on OTT platform Zee5. The film, directed by Rakesh Roshan, tells the story of reincarnation. In the film, the two leads are killed by their uncle, Thakur Arjun Singh (Amrish Puri), after which their mother prays to the goddess Kali for years and years later the brothers are reborn into separate families.

BANDHAN (1998)
OTT Platform – Amazon Prime Video
Bandhan is a 1998 Indian Hindi romantic drama film. It stars Jackie Shroff, Salman Khan, Rambha and Ashwini Bhave in the lead roles. Let us tell you that Bandhan is a remake of Tamil film Panditurai. Unable to give birth to a child in this film, Pooja is asked to settle or leave the house with her husband’s new mistress. After which Pooja’s brother Raju decides to fight for her and reunite her with her husband.
