Vipin Sharma bursts out after being approached for an ad film shoot amid COVID-19
Vipin Sharma is an Indian actor, writer & film director known for his works predominantly in Hindi cinema.
Actor Vipin Sharma recently got a call for an ad shoot that’s scheduled for some time this week in Mumbai. The actor had recently taken to social media to express his anger over a call asking him.
In an exclusive chat with ETimes, he opens up on what had happened. “I got a call from a casting director asking me if I could shoot for an ad film. I was so upset I gave him a mouthful. How dare people even think of shooting in such times. It is horrible that they are putting people’s lives at risk. I don’t think any of us should approve of it,” he said.
Stating that there’s no insurance coverage in place, he adds, “If somebody contracts the virus and dies because of the shoot, then who’ll take the responsibility? Nobody is going to pay anything to that person except few thousand bucks.”
After this incident, the actor found out that in spite of the lockdown-like situation in the state and a curfew already in place with bans on film, TV, and commercial shoots, some brands were proceeding with their shoots as planned. When Vipin called up the casting director to find out which brand was the shoot being planned for, so that he could call them out for it, the casting director refused to disclose details. “He told me that they are calling off the shoot now.”
Vipin Sharma is a senior actor who has done as many as 74 films to his filmography, including ‘Taare Zameen Par’, ‘Hotel Mumbai’, ‘Paatal Lok’ and ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’.
