Prasoon Joshi’s mother Sushma passes away had her funeral at Ram Bagh Samshan Bhumi in Gurugram; Family to carry a prayer meeting soon

On Sunday morning, Prasoon Joshi’s mother Sushma Joshi breathed her last her family will hold a prayer meeting soon. CBFC chairman and lyricist, Prasoon Joshi’s mother Sushma Joshi passed away. A lecturer of political science, Sushma Joshi had also worked with All India Radio. Apart from that, she was also a classical singer. Her funeral took place at Ram Bagh Samshan Bhumi in Gurugram.

Sushma Joshi’s family issued an official statement on her death. The statement read, “With profound grief, we would like to inform you of the demise of our beloved mother Smt Sushma Joshi during the early morning hours of 24th April. Her light will continue to guide us always.”

Sushma Joshi’s family will soon carry out a prayer meeting. The date and time have not been disclosed yet. The note further reads, “Your thoughts and prayers will give us the strength and solace at this difficult juncture.”

Prasoon Joshi is a popular Indian poet, writer, lyricist, screenwriter, communication specialist and marketer. He is the CEO of McCann World group India and Chairman of APAC (Asia Pacific). He was elected as the Chairperson of the Central Board of Film Certification in 2017.

Prasoon made his debut as a film lyricist with Rajkumar Santoshi’s Lajja and then there was no looking back for him. After the success of Lajja, he was a part of Yash Chopra’s Hum Tum and a number of highly successful Bollywood films like Fanaa, Rang De Basanti, Taare Zameen Par, Black and more. With Aamir Khan starrer Rang De Basanti, Prasoon became a dialogue writer. He is a recipient of several awards and accolades including Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian award in India.
