“I have auditioned to get work:” Mallika Sherawat on her journey in the film industry

Actress Mallika Sherawat has come a long way in the film industry. She has managed to maintain her position since these years. She is happy that her film  RKRKAY released solely in America last week which is directed by Rajat Kapoor.

By sharing her journey in the film industry, she said that she went through a look-test for playing the role in movie Heroine. The film basically revolves around the bygone era in which she played the character of Gulabo.

“I have auditioned to get work. I didn’t ever land a film without going through that. Even Jackie Chan had auditioned several actresses before casting me in his film. The process was always there but I am not sure if it was followed as strictly for industry kids. This time around, when Rajat approached me for his film, he took me through a proper look test and screen-test and had told me that if he is not convinced about it, I won’t get the part. He was very frank. So, there is no escaping this process because eventually, the film benefits out of it. The director is certain that he can rely on his chosen set of actors to deliver, vis-a-vis being forced to work with someone they don’t necessarily find fit for the part,” Mallika shares.

Mallika believes that, as an actress, it’s her responsibility to choose the best from the offered list.
