Here’s how composer AR Rahman responded to Selena Gomez and Madonna’s wishes to collaborate with him

Allah Rakha Rahman, known professionally as A. R. Rahman, is an Indian film composer, record producer, singer, and songwriter who works predominantly in Tamil and Hindi films. He is undoubtedly one of the finest music composers of the nation.
Rahman recently appeared on a talk show named ‘A Little Late With Lilly Singh’ where he had the discussion. Lilly during the conversation asked him about his music and the fact that so many big names from the international music industry want to collaborate with him.
“In 2020, Selena Gomez said in an interview that she wants to work with you, did you know that?” Lilly asked Rahman.
To which A.R. Rahman responded, “I keep seeing all this stuff, but I think people are just confused, ‘where is my management? Did Selena Gomez call you?’ Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez and Madonna, all these people talking about me, but then I never get to meet them because I am on the other side of the world,” he replied.
Lilly also questioned about where he gets his style from, to which Rahman replied, saying that he just does what he wants to do, and doesn’t care about what people would think. “Oh my god, it is truly perfection. Where do you get this from? Do you have a stylist or are you into it?” asked Lilly. “Actually, after a while, you don’t care. You just think you are going to do this stuff,” Rahman stated.
In 2014 Taylor had told Hindustan Times, “I have heard a lot about AR Rahman. I think he is a fantastic musician. His music touches the soul. I would love to hear him live in performance once.” Madonna in 2012 had said, “I would like to work with him (AR Rahman) when the opportunity comes, and things work out.”
99 Songs released last month in the theatres of India. Recently, Rahman announced that the movie will be available to stream on an OTT platform soon. The name of the streaming service is yet to be revealed.
