Bhumi Pednekar all set to try a new genre, says she wants to experience a fantasy project as an actor

One of the prominent stars of the young brigade in Bollywood, Bhumi Pednekar has emerged as the face behind women’s ambition to play diverse roles on screen. Starting from her debut movie to her roles in movies, like  Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, Bala, and Toilet Ek Prem Katha the actress has maintained the consistency of socially relevant yet beautifully commercial films.

However, there have been speculations that filmmaker Ketan Mehta has been considering Bhumi for a biopic on his aunt, freedom fighter Usha Mehta. In an interview with the Mid-day, the actor mentioned that essaying the part of a freedom fighter would be among her most cherished opportunities.

“Playing a freedom fighter would be my dream role. I am fascinated by such remarkable personalities. It would be an honour. I hope the universe listens to this,” said Bhumi.

“All my films see me attempt to shatter stereotypes. That’s what I have done right from my debut film, Dum Laga Ke Haisha. I see myself playing ambitious, beautiful, and gutsy characters, because I relate to them. I am thrilled to be creatively expressing myself.” however, even after having tackled such a vast variety of genres, Pednekar says there is one that she is still intrigued to explore and try her hands. “A fantasy project. I would love to experience that, as an actor,” Bhumi concluded.

However, within a calendar year, Pednekar is set to explore a wide range of personalities for the big screen, with films like Bheed and Badhaai Do with Rajkummar Rao; Ladykiller with Arjun Kapoor, Govinda Naam Mera along with Vicky Kaushal, and Raksha Bandhan with Akshay Kumar.
