A real U-15 title champion in Badminton Naishaa Kaur to play the young ‘Saina Nehwal’ in her biopic

Naishaa Kaur Bhatoye, who starred as young Saina in the film, has bagged the U-15 girls singles title at the Ashwani Gupta Memorial All India Sub Junior Ranking Badminton Tournament. Her real-life has emulated the reel life, being the young athlete she aces the role of Saina Nehwal in her biopic.

According to a news report, the 13-year-old Chembur originated badminton player successions at the Jitesh Padukone Shuttlers’ Academy as well as the Pullela Gopichand Badminton Academy and she often travels back and forth between Mumbai and Hyderabad to achieve her dream of being an ace badminton player.

“Naishaa is a very gritty athlete, a lot like Saina”. The coach Gopichand said to a publication.

The actress Shraddha Kapoor was the one who recommended Naishaa Kaur Bhatoye to the director when she saw her at the North Indian Association. Naishaa debuted in Saina’s role as she is her idol and looks up to her for aspiration.

“I was just nine when I shot for the movie. I shot for around one-and-a-half months for the 20-30 minute role. It was a dream come true to play the role of my idol. I took up badminton because of her” said Naishaa Kaur Bhatoye.

There is no doubt that Naishaa was perfect in her role and it was very convenient to watch her on-screen as she is no less than a champion in real life.
